Bhawana Jain (b. 1998, Assam, India) is a multidisciplinary artist based in London. She completed an MA in Fine Art with Distinction at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2025), where she was awarded the UAL Graduate Award. Alongside her studio practice, she has over four years of experience facilitating creative workshops and community-based art education across India and the UK.
Born into the first generation of South Asian women in her family with the ability to make her own choices, Jain reflects with gratitude on the opportunities to define her own path, ways of being, and ways of thinking about the world. This awareness continues to shape her artistic practice, which explores how materials, landscapes, and inherited knowledge hold relationships between bodies, cultures, and the Earth.
Working across installation, drawing, photography, sound, film, performance, and land art, Jain’s practice unfolds at the intersection of ecopoiesis, embodied memory, and cultural inheritance. Through material-led and site-responsive processes, she reimagines these connections, creating encounters that question inherited narratives and rehearse new ways of relating to the world.
She is deeply grateful for the opportunity to pursue a life as an artist.
